Aluminium 5082

Aluminium 5082 is an aluminium alloy with excellent corrosion resistance and weldability. It primarily comprises aluminium (97-99%), with small amounts of manganese, zinc, chromium, iron, silicon, and titanium. This metallic combination gives the material its extremely tough properties. Due to its high strength-to-weight ratio and lightweight compared to other metals like steel or iron, Aluminium 5082 is often used in construction applications such as aircraft manufacturing for its superior durability and quality performance.

Aluminium 5082 is an aluminium alloy that contains 4.5%-6% magnesium and 0.15%-0.35% chromium, which provides excellent corrosion resistance, weldability, formability and strength in high temperatures. It is commonly used in the manufacturing of marine vessels due to its saltwater corrosion resistance and weldability properties, making it ideal for many applications such as fuel tanks, structural components, hulls, etc. Aluminium 5082 also offers a good range of electrical conductivity, making it suitable for use in electrical wiring or other related products that require the efficient transfer of electricity throughout their system.
