Aluminium 6082

Aluminium 6082 is an alloy composed of 97.7-98.3% aluminium, 0.6-1.3% magnesium, 0.20-0.8% manganese by weight, and small amounts of silicon, iron, chromium and zinc. It's a medium-strength aluminium alloy that exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in marine environments and has good formability for use in the fabrication of general industrial components and vehicle panels such as yacht bodies due to its high strength-to-weight ratio compared to other aluminium alloys like 6061 or 5754 series materials.

Aluminium 6082 is a medium-strength aluminium alloy with excellent corrosion resistance, weldability, and formability. It has the highest strength of 6000 series alloys and is commonly used in structural applications such as airframes and bridges. Due to its good machinability properties, it can be machined into intricate parts that need precise details. Other uses for 6061 include marine components and industrial equipment such as heat exchangers.
