Copper Nickel 90/10

Copper Nickel 90/10 is a 90% copper and 10% nickel alloy primarily used in marine engineering due to its high resistance to seawater corrosion. The composition of the Copper Nickel 90/10 alloy consists of 89-91% copper, with a balance of iron, manganese and other trace elements. It also has excellent mechanical properties such as high strength, resistance to erosion-corrosion and stress-related corrosion cracking, and good welding characteristics.

Copper Nickel 90/10, also known as CuNi10Fe1Mn (Cu-Ni), is a corrosion-resistant alloy composed of copper and nickel. Due to its high iron and manganese content, it has excellent corrosion resistance in seawater, brackish water, and other natural environments. Adding these two elements enhances the strength properties, making it an ideal material for marine applications such as heat exchangers, piping systems, tanks, pumps and valves. This alloy exhibits good weldability with no need for post-weld heat treatment or ageing. Therefore, it is often used in naval ships to ensure a long life span, even under harsh conditions.
