Inconel 800

Inconel 800 is a Nickel-Chromium alloy with excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance even at high temperatures. It contains minimal iron and is highly corrosion-resistant in oxidizing and reducing environments. The composition of Inconel 800 includes 70-90% Nickel, 9-12% Chromium, 1.5-3% Iron, 0.15–0.60% Manganese, 0.50-1 % Aluminium, 0.15–0.60% Titanium and a small amount of Silicon or Copper as balance elements for better properties which makes it an ideal material for applications in industries like chemical processing and thermal processing at temperatures up to 1000°C (1832°F).

Inconel 800 is a high-temperature and corrosion-resistant alloy of an austenitic nickel-iron-chromium base. It is used in corrosive environments as it offers excellent resistance to stress caused by oxidation and carburization. In addition, its good creep strength makes it ideal for use in applications subject to severe thermal cycling. These include jet engine components, furnace muffles, nuclear reactors, etc. Additionally, its flexibility allows for cold forming into complex shapes, while its superior heat resistance makes it suitable for many industrial processes such as chemical processing and heat treatment operations.
