Maraging Steel 250

Maraging Steel 250 is a high-strength, ultra-high-performance, precipitation-hardening steel alloy with improved mechanical properties. It features a superior tensile strength of approximately 1,500 N/mm² (MPa) and good toughness and machinability. This makes it an ideal choice for applications that require high-performance parts such as turbine blades, aircraft components, nuclear reactor components and pump shafts. Its composition consists of 17% Nickel (Ni), 19% Cobalt (Co), 3% Molybdenum (Mo), 4% Titanium (Ti) and 0.2% Aluminum (Al). Other trace elements include Niobium (Nb), Vanadium (V), and copper (Cu).

Maraging Steel 250 is an ultra-high-strength, low-alloy steel with impressive characteristics and properties. It has a yield strength of 2080 MPa (302 ksi) and an ultimate tensile strength of 2244MPa (326ksi), making it extremely resistant to wear and tear and highly durable. Furthermore, its hardness at room temperature ranges from 43 HRC to 47 HRC, depending on the cold work or thermal treatments performed. Owing to these features, maraging steel 250 is ideal for aerospace components such as landing gear components, engine parts, jet engine turbine blades and various other harsh-duty applications used in the defence industry.
