Stainless Steel 15-5 PH is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel. It boasts excellent strength, toughness, and corrosion resistance in hardened and tempered conditions. Its chemical composition consists of 15% chromium (Cr) for general-purpose uses, 5% nickel (Ni) for enhanced formability, 4.15–4.85% manganese (Mn); 2–3% molybdenum (Mo) for increased hardness, 0.45–0.75 % silicon (Si); <1 % nitrogen; 0–0.04% carbon ; and minimal amounts of phosphorus (<0 .040%), sulfur (<0 .030%). This unique alloy provides high mechanical properties, good fatigue strength, and great wear resistance when hardened correctly, making it an ideal choice for various applications such as aircraft parts, mining components, medical instruments, nuclear power plants, etc.
Stainless Steel 15-5 PH is a precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steel. It provides high strength and hardness and excellent corrosion resistance and toughness, making it versatile for many applications. The alloy is used in aerospace components, medical instruments, food industry equipment, industrial valves, pumps and fasteners, and ornamental products. Its chemical composition includes chromium (15%), nickel (5%), manganese (1%), phosphorus (.45%), sulfur (.03%) silicon (.50%). This alloy's properties provide good resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking and oxidation at high temperatures, making it highly suitable for use in harsh environments.
