Stainless Steel 430

Stainless Steel 430 is a highly versatile ferritic, non-hardenable stainless steel with good oxidation and corrosion resistance. It's often used in applications such as kitchen utensils, automotive trim, fasteners, and appliances. Its properties include excellent ductility characteristics due to its low carbon content and good machinability, making it suitable for many fabrication processes like welding or stamping. Stainless Steel 430 also offers superior heat-resistant qualities compared to other ferritic grades so that it can be used in high-temperature environments up to 815°C (1500°F).

Stainless steel 430 is a ferritic, non-hardenable grade of stainless steel that contains 17% chromium. It also has other elements, such as phosphorus, sulfur, and carbon, increasing its oxidation resistance. Its composition makes it highly resistant to mild corrosive environments and has good ductility and formability. Due to its strength and corrosion resistance properties, it is commonly used in kitchen appliances, utensils, storage tanks for chemical applications, automotive trim parts and fastenings.
