Its composition consists of 18-20% chromium, 17-19% nickel, 6-6.5% molybdenum, and 0.18%-0.22% nitrogen with small amounts of carbon and other trace elements, making it one of the best materials for industrial applications like food production lines, heat exchangers and desalination plants thanks to its extraordinary qualities such as weldability in both ergonomic forms as well as good formability at low temperatures and low permeability to liquids and gases.


Stainless Steel SMO254 (UNS S31254) is a high alloy austenitic stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance in various aggressive media. It’s also extremely pliable, making it suitable for use in pressure vessels and heat exchangers. SMO254 has superior strength, good weldability, and excellent formability properties, making it ideal for fabricating components used in oil refineries, power generation plants and chemical processing facilities.
