Titanium Grade 5

Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) is a titanium alloy composed of 6% Aluminum, 4% Vanadium and 90% Titanium. This material offers excellent corrosion resistance, high strength-to-weight ratio, stress corrosion cracking resistance and low thermal expansion. Ti-6Al-4V has an ultimate tensile strength of 138000 psi and yield strength at 105000 psi with an Elongation of 15%. It is considered the most popular titanium grade due to its widespread use in medical implants such as pins, rods and screws. It also finds applications in aspects like aerospace components, structural components for chemical processing plants, etc.

Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) is a high-strength, low-density alloy with excellent corrosion resistance, strength-to-weight ratio, biocompatibility and welding capability. Due to its superior properties, it is commonly used in many industries, such as aerospace engineering, medical implants and tools, automotive parts and furniture production. Some of the key properties that make it attractive include extreme fatigue resistance under cyclic loading, outstanding impact strength, impressive ductility for forming operations at temperatures as low as -253°C, superb weldability with no post-weld heat treatments required, excellent corrosion resistance in both seawater and hostile environments; and rapid cooling rates that result in higher mechanical features.
