Incoloy Fasteners

Incoloy Fasteners are made using nickel and are super alloys that execute excellent resistance towards corrosion. Copper and titanium is added to these incoloy fasteners to give them resistance towards extreme environmental damage. Resistance towards general corrosion is also high in Incoloy Fasteners.


The Structure of Incoloy fasteners is austenitic. The amount of nickel added too these fasteners is also sufficient to give it resistance towards chloride ion stress corrosion cracking. Incoloy has immunity towards reducing agents and acids, owing to the addition of molybdenum and chromium. Fasteners are made in types like screws, bolts, nuts and washers. The chromium addition makes it resistant towards oxidising salts, nitric acid solutions and nitrates. Titanium is added in order to give pitting and intergranular corrosion resistance to Incoloy Fasteners. Damage due to Phosphoric acid and sulphuric acid attacks does not occur in Incoloy Fasteners. Applications like Electrostatic precipitator electrodes, phosphoric acid evaporators, tank trucks, chemical processing plants, exhaust bellows and marine exhaust systems make use of Incoloy fasteners. It is also considered as one of the less costly alloys for use in sulphuric acid environments.
