Inconel Valves

Inconel valves are a type of valve composed of several different alloys, often called superalloys or high-performance alloys. These alloys typically include nickel-chromium, molybdenum, and other metals, such as iron and aluminium. This combination of elements gives Inconel valves the ability to handle extreme temperatures, chemicals and pressure, making them ideal for many sealing applications. The alloy chosen depends on the application so the exact chemical composition can vary slightly between different Inconel valve types. They also generally contain small amounts of trace elements that provide added strength and corrosion resistance to enhance performance.

Inconel valves are renowned for their incredible strength and durability, making them a go-to choice for demanding applications. Because they exhibit excellent corrosion resistance even when exposed to harsh chemicals, Inconel valves are the ideal choice in many industries, including oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, food processing, and chemical production. When exposed to heat, an oxide layer is generated on the surface of these valves. The coating protects them from oxidation damage. Hence, in applications where temperatures reach extremes, these valves are used. In addition to being highly durable and corrosion resistant, Inconel valves offer exceptional temperature resistance (up to 1,998°F). This makes them an ideal choice in high-temperature applications like power generation, chemical vessels, pressure vessels, gas turbine blades, heat exchangers, steam generators, and natural gas processing plants.

Valves are built in four main types: hydraulic, pneumatic, solenoid, and motor valves. These valves are commonly used for applications like regulating the flow of liquids and gasses in industries; most household applications like washing machines, dishwashers and more use valves. Inconel valves are also highly resistant to sodium chloride corrosion. This property makes them usable in marine applications. Inconel is hard to machine. On top of all this, these valves can be easily machined without losing their valuable properties.
