Super Duplex Steel Pipes

Super Duplex Steel pipes are made using a mixture of austenitic and ferritic steels. These pipes are specifically developed for use in Oil & Gas industries. SD pipes are known for their superior corrosion resistance.

The difference when comparing super duplex and duplex steel pipes is the higher molybdenum and chromium content in the former. The well balanced dual-phased structure helps in giving these pipes a combination of strength and corrosion resistance. To make these steel pipes more cost effective, these are alloyed with nickel and molybdenum in lower amounts. Chloride environments are not a problem for super duplex steels are they have effective chloride resistance. When compared to austenitic or ferritic steel grades, these pipes have more tensile and yield strength. Alteration in thickness of the pipes is possible without compromising on quality and durability. Super Duplex can withstand marine environments effectively. Hence, these pipes are usable in industries such as offshore coastlines, Fire-Fighting systems, subsea coastlines, injection and ballast water systems, and oil & gas plants.
