Alloy steel A387 GR 9 is an alloy steel comprised of chromium, molybdenum, and carbon. It has excellent heat resistance properties for applications at extremely high temperatures. This sheet is also highly resistant to corrosion and oxidation. The composition comprises 1/2 to 2% Chromium, 0.5-1% Molybdenum, and up to 0.5-2% Nickel. Depending on grade requirements, other elements, such as Silicon and Manganese, may also be present in the alloy steel mix.
