The flanges contain high carbon content which results in excellent strength. They have good ductility and excellent formability. The availability of molybdenum enhances the flexibility of the material. The flanges are resistant to abrasion and corrosion, thus ideal for environments which have constant friction. They can withstand pitting, crevice, stress cracking, and localized corrosion. The alloy is moldable into different shapes, sizes, designs, and thicknesses. The most common types of F52 flanges are flat, spectacle, orifice, slip-on, threaded, blind, reducing, long weld neck, weld neck, lap joint, RTJ, WNRF, SWORF, and socket weld. The flanges are classified into 150#, 300#, 600#, 900#, 1500#, 2500#, PN6, PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40, PN64, PN100, and PN160.

Mechanical and physical- The alloy has a tensile strength of 415MPa while the yield strength is 315MPa. The elongation capacity of the material is 30%. The density is 7.9g/cm3 while the melting point is 14000 C.
