S31803

Duplex Steel S31803 Bars are used in industries due to their properties such as high strength, corrosion resistance and durability. These bars contain the chemical B16, which helps them resist stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice corrosion for use in hazardous applications. The composition of about 22% chromium and 3% molybdenum makes the B16 the highest duplex stainless steel grade. It helps to provide 340MPa minimum yield strength and 480MPa minimum tensile strength with good flexibility with excellent toughness throughout the range -50°C to 300°C temperature range. Therefore, Duplex Steel S31803 is considered a restorative material with all attributes of both austenitic and ferritic grades.

S31803 Duplex Steel Bars have several uses due to their strength and low corrosion resistance. They are handy for making components that need to stand up to high temperatures, like exhaust components for aircraft or gas turbines. Moreover, they have excellent mechanical properties like their high yield and tensile strength, as well as their excellent weldability, which makes them an ideal material for many applications. Their low lifecycle cost is also attractive, as they rarely require maintenance or replacement over a long period of use. In addition, they exhibit significant increases in resistance to localized corrosion compared to other grades of stainless steel. Consequently, the Duplex Steel Bars S31803 can be used in environments containing chlorides, acids, and seawater.

FAQ's for Duplex Steel S31803 Bars

Duplex Steel S31803 is a chromium-nickel alloy steel with enhanced qualities of strength, cost efficiency, and corrosion resistant properties. It is often used in industries such as oil and gas, chemical, and marine engineering.

Duplex Steel S31803 is ideal for applications that require high levels of corrosion resistance and durability. The unique combination of its mechanical and corrosion resistant properties make it suitable for use in demanding industrial environments such as seawater pumps, pipelines, chemical tankers and offshore platforms.

Duplex Steel S31803 is exceptionally strong compared to other steel alloys with a tensile strength ranging up to 655 MPa (95 KSI). Its high strength combined with its excellent corrosion resistance makes it an ideal choice for critical applications where both strength and corrosion resistance are required.
