Hastelloy B3 foil is a nickel-based alloy resistant to hydrochloric acid and other chemically corrosive environments. It has a composition of 68–70% Nickel, 20–22% Molybdenum, 1.6–2.1% Chromium, 0.5–1% Manganese, 0.08–0.15% Carbon, 4%-7 % Iron and trace amounts of Titanium and Aluminum making it ideal for corrosive applications where heat resistance and strength are required simultaneously as well as having good fabricability characteristics at elevated temperatures up to 816°C (1500°F).
Hastelloy B3 Foil has excellent corrosion and heat resistance properties, making it ideal for various applications. It also features high strength and durability in extreme environments, such as atmospheres that contain sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid. Additionally, due to its ability to withstand aggressive chemistry, Hastelloy B3 foil is often used to fabricate chemical processing equipment like filters, tanks, heat exchangers, distillation columns and more. Lastly, Hastelloy B3 also offers great weldability, allowing engineers to easily design complex structures.
