In heavy industries particularly in petrochemical industries and in applications which require high strength and corrosion resistance fasteners, these Incoloy 925 stud bolts are used. The stud bolt is a threaded rod with heavy nuts on either sides or with a head on one side and a nut on the other. These stud bolts are basically made of nickel-iron-chromium alloy which is age hardenable, with elements of titanium, molybdenum, copper and aluminium. It is known to retain its strength even at temperatures as high as 1200F (50C). The Incoloy 925 is known for its high resistance to various reducing chemicals, caustic alkalies and neutral solutions alike. They have high electrical conductivity and have good thermal and magnetostrictive properties. They have excellent resistance to dry fluorine and offer moderate resistance to hydrochloric and sulphuric acids at modest temperature and concentration.
They are used in the oil & gas industry for sour-gas well components, marine and pump shafting, valves, tubing and high-strength piping systems. Also used in power plants condensation and pipes used in transporting of sewage water to cool water. It is also widely used in applications requiring handling of caustic soda.
