Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Bars

Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Bars are one of the most commonly used grades of stainless steel and are defined as chromium-nickel-copper precipitation hardening martensitic stainless steel. It carries excellent tensile properties, great corrosion resistance, and remarkable toughness, especially at elevated temperatures. Its composition consists of 15–17% chromium, 3–5% nickel, and 3–5% copper, the balance being iron.

Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Bars are precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steel. It combines high strength and hardness with excellent corrosion resistance and ease of fabrication. These properties make it an ideal material for applications such as nuclear reactors, gas turbines, valves, fasteners, shafts and gears. It is also used in cryogenic storage tanks and medical implants due to its superior strength-to-weight ratio and low thermal expansion characteristics.
