Stainless Steel 253MA Plates

Stainless Steel 253MA Plates

Stainless Steel 253MA Plates are an austenitic chromium-nickel-manganese stainless steel offering superior oxidation and corrosion resistance compared to other grade alloys. It contains high nickel and chromium content, providing excellent mechanical properties and resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress cracking. The composition includes molybdenum, silicon, manganese and copper for additional strength and durability. In addition to its outstanding performance characteristics, it can be easily welded or heat treated with no loss of strength or hardness efficiency.

Stainless steel 253MA plates are used for high-temperature, corrosion-resistant applications. They offer superior strength and flexibility to stainless steel due to their higher chromium content. Additionally, they have good oxidation resistance up to 1150°C in intermittent service and 850°C in continuous service. The Nickel content provides excellent formability, while copper helps with better weldability. These properties make it ideal for engineering components that require food processing equipment, heat exchangers, power plant condenser tubing and seawater handling systems.
