Alloy 302B is a specification or chromium. It is standard combination of chromium-nickel stainless steel sheet, strip and plate commonly used in pressure vessels and also for some general applications. It has slightly higher strength due to the additional carbon content in it. AISI 302B is an austenitic steel formulated for primary forming converted into a wrought product. Alloy 302B cannot be hardened by any heat treatment.
Equivalent materials to the grade 320B are given below:
The corrosion resistance of this type of alloy is superior to any other type. This stainless steel 302B channels has a good resistance to acidic environments, especially associated with nitric acid, but does not have good resistance to halogen acids. The average merchantability of this alloy is 45% compared to that of any other alloy. It is used for parts that are exposed to high temperatures. Alloy 302B is the best suited for any heating surfaces.
