Stainless Steel 316L Bars

Stainless Steel 316L Bar is an austenitic chromium-nickel alloy with excellent corrosion resistance, strength, and ductility. It has good formability and weldability and is commonly used in the chemical, petrochemical, food processing, marine equipment, and medical industries due to its superior metallurgical properties such as high-temperature oxidation resistance up to 1650°F (899°C) as well as elevated temperature stress submersion cracking resistance. Its excellent form retention makes it a highly sought-after material for many product applications.

316L SS bar is a low-carbon version of the 316-grade material, containing up to 0.03% carbon content and no more than 0.75% manganese, 1.00% silicon, 2.00% nickel, 16–18% chromium, 10–14% molybdenum and small amounts of phosphorus, sulfur, and nitrogen; making it an extremely corrosion-resistant metal with superior mechanical properties in cold temperatures. It is often used in projects requiring welding or machining since it has low carbon content and offers excellent formability when compared to its equivalents in other grades of stainless steel.
