Stainless Steel 317L Sheet is an austenitic molybdenum-bearing stainless steel which exhibits increased corrosion and oxidation resistance. It contains higher levels of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum than other types of stainless to enhance its structure as a corrosion-resistant alloy with improved mechanical properties. This grade's most common composition breakdown includes 18% chromium, 14% nickel, 3-4% molybdenum, and less than 2% manganese.
Stainless Steel 317l sheet is a low-carbon version of stainless steel alloy type 317. It has excellent corrosion resistance properties in most environments with increased strength at higher temperatures and is especially resistant to chlorides and pitting corrosion. These sheets are also highly weldable, formable, durable, and great for cryogenic applications due to their high Charpy impact values.
