Stainless Steel 321 Fasteners

321 Stainless Steel Fasteners are composed of iron, chromium, nickel, and titanium. The composition includes 18% chromium, 9% nickel, and 3% manganese. Titanium is also added in small quantities to stabilize the alloy against sensitization during welding. The carbon content of the alloy is 0.08%, and it contains other elements, such as sulfur and phosphorus, in tiny amounts.

SS 321 fasteners have several advantageous properties, including high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. They can be used in various applications, such as food processing equipment, chemical plant parts, medical devices, and valves. Furthermore, they provide excellent resistance to oxidation at elevated temperatures up to 870°C (1600°F). The alloy also has good weldability and retains its mechanical properties even when exposed to temperature fluctuations.
