Stainless Steel 347H Foil

Stainless Steel 347H Foil is an austenitic chromium-nickel-based alloy containing columbium (niobium) and tantalum. This grade of stainless steel can be used in high-temperature applications up to 899°C (1650°F). In contrast, other stainless steels may become unstable or deteriorate due to their excellent heat resistance, oxidation, and creep properties. The composition of SS 347H Foil includes chromium 18-20%, nickel 10-12%, molybdenum 2.0-3% along with other elements like titanium, niobium, manganese, silicon and carbon in trace amounts, making it ideal for a wide range of applications.

Stainless Steel 347H Foil is a heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant steel alloy that offers excellent resistance to oxidation and carbonization at high temperatures. It has outstanding weldability, as well as good formability and ductility. Its exceptional ability to resist intergranular corrosion makes it suitable for use in salt spray corrosive environments when used in annealed conditions. Its high chromium content also ensures superior resistance to stress cracking caused by chloride ions. This versatile material is highly recommended for applications requiring maximum corrosion protection and elevated temperature service up to 1150°C (2102°F).
