Stainless Steel UNS S43023 Nuts are composed of two distinct elements - Nickel and Chromium, with minor additives such as Manganese, Molybdenum, and Silicon. This particular alloy contains 3.5% Nickel and 21-23% Chromium, along with other small amounts of Iron, Carbon, Manganese, and Silicon, resulting in superior performance to conventional alloys used for fasteners. Stainless Steel UNS S43023 Nuts have excellent crevice corrosion resistance and outstanding mechanical strength for temperature consistencies up to 590°F (310°C). The presence of Chromium gives these nuts a rust-free life expectancy exceeding 50 years in most climates. An alloy such as this is ideal for use in situations where heat resistances are critical.
