These flanges are the purest and most common grade of titanium alloy. They have excellent weldability, and they are light. The material is unalloyed and retains ductility in moderate temperatures. The flanges are resistant to corrosion through oxidation and reduction. The alloy can withstand chloride-bearing environments. However, this is the lowest grade of titanium in terms of strength. They are found in various types like slip-on, lap joint, raised face, spectacle, SORF, screwed, reducing, drawing, long type joint, and long weld neck flanges. They are classified into 150#, 300#, 600#, 900#, 1500#, 2500#, PN6, PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40, PN64, PN100, and PN160.
Properties of titanium Gr 1 flanges
Mechanical- The tensile strength of the alloy is 240MPa while the yield strength is 170MPa. It has a maximum elongation capacity of 35%. The density of the material is low at 4.5g/cm3which is associated with the lightweight. The melting point is 16700 C.
Chemical- The elements found in titanium grade 1 flanges are oxygen, hydrogen, iron, carbon, and titanium.
