Stainless Steel 440B Sheet is a high-carbon martensitic stainless steel with excellent strength, hardness, and wear resistance properties. It offers good corrosion resistance in mild atmospheres and fresh water with relatively low carbon content of 0.75%. Its composition includes iron alloys (Fe), chromium (Cr) up to 17%, carbon (C) at 0.75%, molybdenum (Mo) up to 1%, manganese (Mn) up to 1%, silicon (Si) up to 0.5 % and other elements like vanadium, phosphorus, copper, sulfur etc.
Stainless Steel 440B Sheet has a high strength-to-weight ratio and excellent corrosion resistance while being hardenable through heat treatment. It is often used in knife blades, medical instruments and food processing machinery as it is highly resistant to wear, abrasion, and corrosion. Its tensile strength ranges from 800 to 1200 MPa for hot-rolled stainless steel sheets.
