Stainless Steel SMO 254 Forging
Stainless Steel SMO 254 Forging is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with an addition of copper and nitrogen for improved corrosion resistance. It has a higher molybdenum content than standard SS, allowing it to withstand higher temperatures while maintaining strength and superior oxidation resistance. Its composition includes nickel, copper, chromium, silicon, titanium and molybdenum, mostly iron (72%).
SMO 254 stainless steel forging is a super-austenitic and high-alloy material with excellent corrosion resistance, outstanding mechanical properties, and great formability. It offers exceptional creep resistance and weldability for applications where service temperatures may reach 900°C (1650°F). Its other notable uses include being used in marine environments, petrochemical plants, earthworks equipment manufacturing, desalination plants, pulp & paper industries, etc.
