Stainless Steel UNS S30908 Pipe Fittings are composed of alloy elements, such as chromium, nickel, silicon and manganese. The primary alloying elements that give the stainless steel strength and corrosion resistance are chromium (18-20%) and nickel (11-14%). This particular grade of stainless steel also contains 0.75-2.0% silicon and 1.5-2.0% manganese for added stability against corrosion. Molybdenum is sometimes added to provide additional strength at higher temperatures; this is commonly found in heavily pressurised fittings. Due to the material's chemistry, these fittings offer superior mechanical properties and corrosion resistance in various challenging environments.
