Stainless Steel 253MA Tubing

Stainless Steel 253MA is a high-temperature chromium-nickel stainless steel designed for exceptional service in oxidizing and carburizing atmospheres. It has outstanding oxidation resistance up to the point of developing charred oxide, making it an excellent choice for frequent thermal cycling applications. The grade consists of a combination of austenitic and ferritic steels with an addition of nitrogen, manganese, silicon, phosphorus and sulfur for improved performance and durability. Its composition includes iron (Fe), 18-20% Chromium (Cr), 9-12% Nickel (Ni), 1.5%-3% Molybdenum (Mo), 0.2%-0.45% Silicon (Si), 0.8%-1%.

Stainless Steel 253MA Tubing is a versatile alloy made from an austenitic chromium-nickel base and several elements such as sulfur and copper. This allows it to resist oxidation up to temperatures of 1,000°C (1,832°F). Its high-temperature resilience makes it ideal in oil & gas, petrochemical processing, and chemical and nuclear engineering industries. Furthermore, its excellent tensile strength enables it to be used in general fabrication and cryogenic applications.
