Stainless Steel 446 Coil is an iron, chromium and nickel alloy, available in different combinations depending on the application. It also contains molybdenum and other elements in trace amounts for added corrosion resistance and strength. The combination of these elements makes it highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion compared to other types of stainless steel.
Stainless Steel 446 Coil has many uses and properties. It is oxidation, corrosion, pitting and stress-corrosion cracking resistant due to its high chromium content in combination with aluminium, titanium and molybdenum. It provides excellent heat resistance and strength even at temperatures up to 1600°F (871°C). Its composition also allows it to be welded or formed using all the conventional welding techniques without becoming brittle due to rapid cooling during fabrication. In addition to this, SS446 Coil has a beautiful finish that makes it suitable for architectural applications such as trim work and wall panels.
