Stainless Steel 904L PN 40 Flanges

SS 904L Pn 40 Flanges are generally made of high-alloy Austenitic stainless steel that contains 23-28% chromium, 19-23% nickel, 4-5% copper and a low amount of molybdenum, manganese, nitrogen, phosphorus, silicon and sulfur. These flanges have excellent resistance to crevice corrosion and pitting in heavily chloride-contaminated environments and good stress corrosion cracking resistance. They offer good oxidation resistance up to 870°C (1600°F) and good mechanical properties even at temperatures down to minus 196°C (-320°F). The addition of Copper to the alloy significantly increases their corrosion resistance and allows them to be welded with minimal risk of intergranular corrosion.
