Stainless steel 420F bars are a high Carbon variant of the standard grade of stainless, Type 420. These bars contain 12-14% Chromium for added hardness and superior edge retention properties compared to regular stainless steels. It is used in medical instruments, cutlery, surgical tools and other applications where corrosion resistance and increased durability are desirable. The martensitic matrix provides good tensile strength and excellent wear resistance, while its balanced composition gives it an impressive balance between toughness and strength.
