Hastelloy B3

Hastelloy B3 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures, as well as atmospheric corrosion, pitting, crevice corrosion and stress-corrosion cracking. This alloy is resistant to the sulfuric and phosphoric acids used in chemical processing industries. It also has good mechanical properties at ambient and elevated temperatures up to 1050°C (1922°F). The composition of Hastelloy B3 includes NiMo (Nickel Molybdenum) approximately 57%, C (Carbon) 0.02% max., Fe (Iron) 0.5% max., Mn (Manganese) 1.0% max., Cr (Chromium) 2.0% max., Co (Cobalt) 1.0% max., Si (Silicon) 0.08%, S (Sulfur), P(Phosphorus ) 0 .03%.

Hastelloy B3 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. It has exceptional thermal stability, even in extremely corrosive environments. Hastelloy B3 is suitable for applications requiring oxidation and carburization resistance above 1300°F (704°C). As such, it can be used for components in furnaces or reactors exposed to rapidly changing temperatures and aggressive chemicals. Its distinct properties make it ideal for use in process piping systems, exhaust manifolds, valve trim components and other parts exposed to extreme conditions.
